My live rattlesnake hunt with Bruce Weber. What a rush!
Below is a YouTube playlist of five videos are courtesy of Whalenson Films. There were
shot at the 2007 Walnut Valley Festival. The set was truly an improv set as I had only played with
Scott Schmidt (Mandolin) & John Lowell (Guitar) that afternoon for 20 minutes in the Weber booth. James McKinney (Banjo), who I only get to see once every two years or so, and Marrvin Gruenbaum (Fiddle), joined us during the second song of the set and had never met Scott and John!
The experience of an all acoustic (no sound system) performance under a small lantern
for light, gave this 11:30 PM concert quite a nice feel.
Next (below) is a YouTube playlist of seven videos are were filmed at the
Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas in 2008 by Mark Johnson.
They were from an improvisational Jam session that took place
around midnight on Friday night of the festival.
Playing in the videos are Two time National Flatpick Guitar Champion Gary Cook, Two time National Mandolin Champion Bruce Graybill, National Banjo Champion
James McKinney, Fiddler Peter Knupfer and Bassist Marc Bennett.
These kind of spontaneous Jam sessions are what makes
the Walnut Valley Festival such a great place to go!

Below are a set of nine we videos shot for Sound To Earth Ltd., maker of Weber fine acoustic instruments.
I discovered this video by accident! Ritual Dance, one of the three movements of my composition ‘The Walnut Valley Suite,’ was performed in this international Guitar Seminar in Uruguay. They did a marvelous job. If anyone can translate the Conductors comments please email me!
